After installing AccountRight Plus 2011 on SBS 2003 I found that the new Libraries system was not working, an error about a service not running.  I installed MYOB a Windows 7 computer and found everything worked fine, so I started to trace back the error.

I tried to install the Australian version as well and hit the same problem.

1.  The service MYOB AccountRight Server Version 2011.1 is missing to fix this you need to run from command prompt

2. Set the service to Automatic and start the service

3. Then using regedit add the following lines to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MYOB\HuxleyServer\2011.1.

4. Then create the following folders

5. Then create the following shares (Please note that the folders are called .backups and the shares are called AccountRight.Backup with no s on the end).

You should be good to go, please comment below anything that I missed or is wrong and I’ll edit to suit.

I’ve been trying to remember who taught me this game, I remember some really messy evenings and different places I played once a party because I was leaving town, Boxing Day at my sisters and a unplanned lock in at a Pub.  The same thing happen each time the newbies/amateurs didn’t give the game respect and ended up making a fool of themself.  I had forgotten the details of the rules until my sister who still plays this game now emailed them to me.

The game is all down to sipping your alcohol, you can only leave the game to fill your glass if it is empty (but you must come back with a full glass), you can take no toilet breaks unless you have the correct card (I will get to that) or are willing to buy the card from someone else.  Buying does not have to be monetary it can be for example a forfeit of their next sips.

OK, I’m going to try and explain how this works, all you need is a deck of cards.  You place the cards in the middle of the floor/table and choose who goes first (I’ll let you decide how to do this), the first player turns over the card and will try and explain each card.

Ace – 5 Black… drink for yourself
If you turn over Black Ace to Black 5 then you take that many sips, Ace is one and 5 is Five…easy start

Ace – 5 Red….drink for yourself or others
If you turn over Red Ace to 5 then you can give out that many sips any way you like, for example you may get a 3 diamonds so you can take a sip for yourself, one to Jim and one to Jack or you can give them all to Jim.

6…make a rule
This is where the fun can start, If you turn over a 6 of any suit you have to make a rule.  This can be anything a classic is name a country starting with A, Australia for example before you touch your glass to drink.  If you forget then you have a forfeit, this can be anything from 2 sips or take someone else’s sips the more inventive the better.  The rules stack and the next person to create a rule decides how it works with the other rule or rules.

7…toilet card
You can now go to the toilet anytime you want, if you get a couple of these cards you can always sell it.

8…nose card
This is an interesting card, the person with the 8 of any suit can at any time put there finger on there nose.  Everyone else must then do the same and the last person to do it has to take 2 sips.

9…tell a story
This is childish…the person who turns over a 9 of any suit must start a story.  So it starts with one word and then the next person repeats that word (and any others that were said previously) and adds another and so on, until someone forgets the story or misses out the word.  Every word that the story last for is how many sips you have to take when you fail.

10…Cheers
A 10 of any suit mean you have to say cheers, and you have to look each person the eye as you say cheers.  If you don’t look into someone eyes then you take 2 sips.

Jack..Hey Jack
Turn over a Jack of any suit and the last person to say ‘Hey Jack!’ takes 2 sips.

Queen… Yo Bitch
Turn over a Queen of any suit and the last person to say ‘Yo Bitch!’ takes 2 sips.

King… 4 kings and down
The final card can be a bit nasty, the first 3 Kings do nothing a nice freebie who ever turns over the final King has to down whatever is in front of them.  Just pray you haven’t just filled up your glass…
